2015 Quest for Quality: Truckload carries the economy

According to the reporting of our veteran trucking correspondent John Schulz, the truckload sector now accounts for about 37 percent of total freight transportation spending in the U.S.—and is by far the largest single piece of the trucking market.

And during all this growth, analysts tell us that the TL industry has done a “credible job” in recent years in diversifying their offerings and moving away from the idea that 53-foot dry van truckload should be treated as a commodity rather than a customized service.
