UPS Expands Four Distribution Facilities in North America

UPS Inc. has expanded four distribution facilities in North America, increasing its supply chain network size by 1.2 million square feet.
The company, which ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers, expanded facilities in Mira Loma, California, Hebron, Kentucky, Louisville, Kentucky and Toronto.
“These investments are needed to not only support our existing customers and their growth but to also create capacity to support our new business expansion,” Stephen Hydrick, UPS vice president of North American distribution said in a statement. “As our customers grow, we will continue to find and invest in solutions.”
The Louisville facility expanded by 606,000 square feet, according to the company. It is located near the Worldport building, which is the world’s largest fully automated package handling facility.
The Hebron campus increased by 274,000 square feet after growing by 151,000 square feet in April. The campus now has 1.25 million square feet of space.
The Toronto facility increased by 62,000 square feet, and the Mira Loma building increased by 228,000 square feet, UPS said.
The company’s supply chain network includes 596 facilities and about 32.8 million square feet of space.
